Dimension Data Indonesia donates bicycles to two orphanages

Dimension Data Indonesia held an employee gathering on 5 June 2015. As a team building activity, employees were asked to assemble 15 bicycles for children in two orphanages in Bandung. The initiative aimed to help the orphans in their daily transportation and also to promote fun and fitness. Seven bicycles were donated to Al-Fien Foundation and eight were donated to Sartika Foundation respectively.

Al-Fien foundation and Sartika foundation are children shelters in Bandung that take care of young orphans aged from under five years old to teenagers. Most of the orphans in the foundations attend school or community courses by walking or public transportation.

A simple presentation ceremony was held to present the foundations with the completed bicycles. Cici Aminudin, 10 years old, from Sartika Foundation is thrilled at the opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle with her sisters, to get to school in a shorter time.

This activity was organised for employees to learn the importance of teamwork and to cultivate a culture of giving back to the communities Dimension Data operates in. Cycling is also a fun and healthy activity for the children, and allows them to have more time on hand to do other things apart from commuting between places.
